Bush Whacked By Heisman Committee
I'm sure you are all aware of the fact that after five years of speculation, Reggie Bush has been forced (oh, I mean "chosen") to give back his heisman trophy and the 2005 slot in the award history will forever remain blank. Let me first say I think it is a huge injustice to strip him of this in the first place. People are treating this as if he was taking PED's or paying the other teams or something like that. All just for taking some money to play football for a team making millions of dollars off of him playing in the first place, wow what a horrible thing to do! (Not) Not only should college players be allowed to receive some sort of revenue, I am so sick of people making judgement calls about him, saying he's a horrible person for this and that if they were in his position they wouldn't have done it. Yea right!! Anybody in their right mind would take this money. His mother and father reportedly were janitors when he was growing up. You're telling me it was wrong for him to get a nice big house for them to live in, to receive some pocket money for pretty much single handedly filling the seats at USC's stadium every home game. Not only did he earn that money, he earned the right to be the heisman trophy winner. Now I won't get into the fact that he may not have been the true best player that year (Can we give Vince Young some props) but he definitely earned the right to be in the running. I understand that it was against the rules and he should be punished by having his records stricken maybe or something like that, but taking his heisman was a little much. Especially considering he's the first one ever to have this happen. Why don't we look back at all the players and if they did something wrong take theirs too, that's fair right? OJ killed someone, let's take his heisman away! That's a little worse then taking some money from someone to play a sport you should get paid for anyway.
